GENERATIVE AI USE STATEMENT
We recognize the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in scientific research and scholarly communication. We consider them a useful tool and support their responsible and transparent use while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, reproducibility, and accountability.
Authors may use generative AI tools for certain purposes such as language editing or improving clarity, provided that such use does not replace the authors’ own intellectual contributions. The use of AI for generating scientific content, interpreting results, or drawing conclusions is strictly prohibited, unless explicit disclosure is provided and the content undergoes rigorous human validation.
The use of generative AI must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript, including the name of the tool, its provider, and a detailed description of how it was used. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work, including any content generated or assisted by AI. Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for the work.
Authors are expected to critically review and verify all AI-generated outputs and ensure that no fabricated, biased, or misleading information is included. The submission of confidential, proprietary, or sensitive data into AI systems is strongly discouraged unless appropriate safeguards are in place.
Editors and reviewers should also disclose any use of generative AI tools in the evaluation of manuscripts and must ensure that such tools are not used in ways that compromise confidentiality or the integrity of the peer review process.
